So Here Is Some Information On DNA Markers For Horses
Will Start With Colors First How They Get Their Base Color Homozygous & Heterozygous
Homozygous Agouti (AA)
Heterozygous Agouti (Aa)
Non-Agouti (aa)
AA Homozygous = It Means A Horse Can’t Throw A Black Base Horse.
Aa Heterozygous = It Means A Horse Can Throw A Black Base Horse And A Bay Base Horse
If It Carries Both Genes.
aa Non-Agouti Gene = It Means If It Is Bred To Dark Based Horse Either aa or Aa It Can
Throw A Black Base Horse.
If The Dark Based Horse Has aa Non-Agouti
They Will Only Have A Black Based Horse Depended On If The Dark Based Horse Is Homozygous For The Red Factor Gene.
If The Black Based Horse Is Heterozygous For Red Factor Gene Than They Have A 50% Chance Of A Black Horse.
